Traditionally Zechariah

Traditionally dated c. 520–480 BC

Visions of restoration and the humble Messiah.

Zechariah combines cryptic night visions of Jerusalem's restoration with striking predictions of the Messiah riding on a donkey and being pierced.

“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Administer true justice. Show loving devotion and compassion to one another.”

“These are the things you must do: Speak truth to one another, render true and sound judgments in your gates,”

“This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”

“Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. And do not plot evil in your hearts against one another.’”

“So tell the people that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Return to Me, declares the LORD of Hosts, and I will return to you, says the LORD of Hosts.’”
